Robert Stringer
Director & Podiatrist
Rob graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2002 with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry. He is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry.
With more than 24 years of experience in both NHS and private practice, Rob has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of foot conditions. He holds additional qualifications in Local Anaesthesia, Prescription Only Medicines (POMs), Podiatric Acupuncture, and Corticosteroid Injection Therapy. He has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in the Theory of Podiatric Surgery and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound.
Alongside his role as Director of Hexham Podiatry, Rob provides clinical support and patient care when required. He is committed to maintaining the highest standards of podiatry practice, ensuring the clinic delivers professional, patient-centred care based on the latest evidence and best practice.

Stephen Hannant
Director & Podiatrist
Steve qualified in 1998 from the University of Central England, Birmingham, with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry. He is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry.
With over 28 years of experience in both NHS and private practice, Steve has developed extensive expertise in the assessment and management of a wide range of foot conditions. He holds additional qualifications in Local Anaesthesia, Podiatric Acupuncture, and Corticosteroid Injection Therapy.
As a Director of Hexham Podiatry, Steve is responsible for overseeing the clinical governance and strategic development of the practice, helping to ensure patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care. He also provides clinical cover and patient appointments when required.

Amanda Woodley
Associate Podiatrist
Amanda qualified in 2013 from New College Durham with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry. She holds certificates in Local Anaesthetic and Prescription Only Medicines (POMs), enabling her to provide advanced podiatry treatments, including nail surgery. Amanda is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry.
Amanda has over 13 years of experience working across both NHS and private practice settings. She has a particular interest in wound care and has extensive experience managing a wide range of foot health conditions, from routine foot care to more complex podiatry needs.
Before qualifying as a podiatrist, Amanda worked as a holistic therapist focusing in reflexology and massage therapy. This background complements her patient-centred approach to care, with a strong focus on comfort, wellbeing, and long-term foot health.
Amanda provides evidence-based treatment for a variety of foot conditions, including ingrown toenails, verrucae, corns and calluses, diabetic foot concerns, wound management, and general foot care. She is committed to delivering professional, compassionate care tailored to each patient's individual needs, helping them maintain healthy, comfortable feet and stay active.

Miriam Teasdale
Associate Podiatrist
Miriam qualified in 2020 from New College Durham with a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry.
Miriam has completed extensive postgraduate training, including an MSc in the Theory of Podiatric Surgery. She holds certificates in Prescription Only Medicines (POMs), Local Anaesthesia, and Corticosteroid Injection Therapy. She is also trained in advanced local anaesthetic techniques using both landmark and ultrasound-guided approaches.
Since qualifying, Miriam has gained experience in both NHS and private practice settings, with particular expertise in nail surgery, routine podiatry, and the management of skin and nail conditions affecting the feet. She has also worked within a specialist NHS podiatric surgery team, further developing her knowledge and skills in the assessment and treatment of nail conditions.
Miriam has a particular clinical interest in nail surgery and provides evidence-based care for a wide range of foot conditions, including ingrown toenails, verrucae, corns, calluses, painful skin and nail conditions, and general foot health concerns.
She is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred podiatry care, helping patients maintain healthy, comfortable feet through professional treatment, clear advice, and preventative foot care.
